Each Spring, CitrusPAC and College Democrats decide to pursue an issue campaign important to the campus, community, and nation. This semester we have decided that our issue campaign will be Education. Throughout the semester, we will be holding events, fundraising, and volunteering for this very important issue.
We made a very important showing at the Say Yes to Education Leadership Summit, and many of our members are currently volunteering with this organization that supports and promotes higher education for children of the Syracuse City School District.
We also are supporting the new organization She's the First which promotes the importance of educating girls in developing nations through fundraising to support these girls' educations.
We will be holding a Battle of the Bands at Funk-N-Waffles in early April to raise money for both Say Yes to Education and She's the First.
We will also be holding a screening of the film "The Education of Shelby Knox" on May 11th.
If you would like to participate in any of our events, make suggestions, or simply learn more about our issue campaign, feel free to email one of the directors or attend our weekly College Democrat meetings on Wednesdays at 7 PM in HBC.
